Our Work

Commissions

StoryCraft takes on a small number of commissions each year
— community documentation, impact films, and organisational storytelling
— for clients whose work deserves to be seen and understood properly.

KIN Creative Space Mural Project
Kingborough Council, 2026

Kingborough Council wanted to document a grassroots arts initiative at the KIN Creative Space — but StoryCraft's involvement went further than documentation.

Working with local artists across a series of workshops, we helped create the conditions for the community to develop and deliver the project themselves: a series of murals transforming the space into an open, inviting hub for future community use.

The result is a film that doesn't report on what happened. It shows what becomes possible when communities are trusted to lead.

Inside Artist Collaboration
Queenstown, Tasmania, 2025

This 16-minute film follows Maggie Jeffries and George Kennedy during a collaborative artist residency in Queenstown, lutruwita/Tasmania — a month of late night painting, exploring the town's natural landscape and industrial heritage, and working side-by-side.

Together, they discuss how their collaborative painting process emerged and evolved, and how they invited the local community to co-create a large-scale artwork, which we see them they carry into the icy waters of Lake Burbury.

A story of friendship, creative risk, and what it means to ‘meet in the middle’ — this film is both portrait and invitation.

Spec Projects

Alongside commissioned work, StoryCraft produces independent short-form documentary content — applying the same methodology to the subjects and communities we support.

Meet the Tasmanian Roasters Shaping Coffee Culture
Ritual Coffee, 2025

Ritual Coffee were among the first to bring farm to cup coffee to Tasmania — connecting local coffee drinkers with growers for 16 years and counting.

In this short film, we meet the people shaping Ritual’s story, and explore how coffee culture in Tasmania is about much more than the beans.

Learn how to build a farm to cup coffee brand customers love through community, connection and customer experience.

Meet the Artist Painting What We Leave Behind — Packaged Nature
Donna Lougher, 2025

In her Hobart studio, artist Donna Lougher walks us through the inspiration behind Packaged Nature — a quietly powerful body of paintings that blend urban landscapes, interiors, and the patterned wrappers of ‘Who Gives A Crap’ toilet paper.

Rooted in Zen practice and influenced by the teachings of Shitou Xiquang, Donna’s work invites us to reflect on the intersections between consumer culture, stillness, and the natural world.

This StoryCraft film captures Donna in a moment of calm reflection, as she prepares to exhibit this body of work.
